Confessions of a Running Blogger

Hi. My name is Krista, and I am a runner and a blogger. I have been blogging almost regularly for nearly 3 years, and I have been running almost regularly for nearly 2 years. I spend 10 hours a week driving to and from work, and 40 hours a week sitting at my desk at work. I'm really bad with numbers and math in general, but I'm pretty sure all this adds up to a dire need for physical activity. So I run.

After 2 years of running I still find it hard sometimes to get out of bed and go for a run. It's not automatic for me, but I hope some day it will be. I don't think I would be much of a runner if I wasn't so stubborn...er, I would prefer to call it tenacious in this context. I'm currently training for the DisneyWorld Half Marathon in January 2008.

Though I blog, I have no technical awareness. I figure there is a maximum of 8 people who will read this post, so I am not embarrassed to admit that this post is solely to sort out my lack of profile picture on Blogger. While I'm at it, I might as well admit that the photo above was taken with my cell phone on the commute to work while I was in a rather shamelessly narcissistic mood, and should have been concentrating on the road. And I chickened out on my long run last weekend. My absolution will come in the form of 11 miles this Saturday morning. I will be redeemed! ;-)

"Cat's arse"?!? I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not... definitely wouldn't be in my books! ;) I'll have to let Erin know you chickened out on your 11mi run - I think she still thinks you did it! Thanks for joining the team - we're excited about everything and look forward to making it a reality. Good for you for keeping up the running - I guess we'll see you in FL in a few weeks, huh! Train safe...

Krista! I think far more than 8 ppl read both of your blogs!!! I know what you mean about the sedentary work lifestyle. . i too sit my own arse for 37.5 hours per week, every week, every year. . Finding a way to consistently exercise is so important. I'm glad you found your antidote in running!Keep up the excellent work, K!!!
